Frequently Asked Questions:

Will Gutter Stuff Handle Ice and Snow?

Gutter Stuff is impervious to winter. Drains and dries so quickly it won't have time to turn into a block of ice, but keeps accepting more water. Snow and ice melt quickly due to the heat absorbent color. If it's warm enough to drip onto the Gutter Stuff guard, it's warm enough to drain. Gutter Stuff also helps to avoid ice dam back ups by keeping the gutters and downspouts clear and free flowing. It has no effect on, nor will it be affected by, ice dams that are a result of a lack of proper insulation. Also, ice and snow sliding off the roof will no longer get hung up in the gutters.

How Much Water Can Gutter Stuff Handle

Gutter Stuff can handle the highest amount of water flow. Gutter Stuff is tested to handle rain in excess of 24" rainfall per hour (that's a lot), more than double the highest rainfall amount EVER recorded!

How Durable is Gutter Stuff?

Gutter Stuff won't bend, dent or crack like aluminum or be damaged by ice and snow, falling tree limbs or even high winds.

Will Gutter Stuff Affect My Roof?

No, Gutter Stuff is actually preferred by Professional Roofing Contractors around the country. No damaging nails or screws and won't void roof warranty. Allows homeowners to re-shingle without destroying their gutter protection.

When it rains does the filter become too saturated to where it becomes heavy and the added weight can possibly bring down or compromise the gutters themselves?

Gutter Stuff only retains approximately 10 to 15% of the water that passes through it, and that is only for a short period of time before it dries, it's much too porous to hold any water weight. When gutters sag or collapse, it's usually from the weight of water and debris trapped because of clogging and lack of regular cleaning.

What about the little pebbles that fall off the roof shingles where do they go? Do they get caught in the black stuff or are the holes big enough for them to drain out?

Neither actually. Shingle grit as it's known is too large to enter through Gutter Stuff pores and just sits on top. It's also extremely porous and does not affect drainage or performance in any way.

We get very cold weather in New York, what happens when it freezes?

When the temperature drops to or below the freezing point, it doesn't have any effect because if the downspout cannot block up there is never any water in the gutter to freeze.

When it rains really hard does the gutter run over?

No, the filter is non absorbent. It lets water run right through.

Do I ever need to clean it?

Nope, that's the beauty of this system, the pore size is just right to let the smallest particles pass through and keeps the larger particles on top to simply blow away.

How do you install it around the gutter spikes?

Gutter Stuff slides right underneath the gutter spikes.

Do birds and other animals harm the foam?

No, Gutter Stuff has been especially designed and tested over the last 5 years all over the country and that has never once happened.

Well, does the heat from the sunlight harm the foam?

No, only the very top surface gets a little stiff. The rest of the filter is shaded so the sun's ultra violet rays cannot harm it in the least.

Can the wind blow it out of the gutter?

No, it fits snugly (when done by a professional) and under the spikes, it's impossible for the wind to blow this out of your gutter.

How long has the product been on the market?

This futuristic technology in gutter protection design was started in the first quarter of 2003 and has continued to grow and grow since then.
